The techno-sphere is the present existential space of the technical man. This publication attempts to define the existential space and presents an analysis of such elements as: the technical man (his main characteristic traits), culture (its essence and assignments) and the understanding of management. The reorientations and transformations that took place in these spheres within the last century have de facto led to the formation of a new social and existential space for modern man.

The organization, areas of activity was introduced as well as the offer of engineering plastics of Azoty Tarnów Capital Group: Tarnamid?, alphalon? - polyamide 6 (PA6), Tarnoform? - poliacetal (POM). The history of Tarnamid? - polyamide 6 (PA6) technology development was presented as well as the Tarnoform? - the poliacetalu
( the POM) in Zakłady Azotowe in Tarnów, moreover the development and the offer of modified grades: Tarnamid? (PA 6) as well as Tarnamid A (PA 66), Tarnoform? (POM), Tarnoprop (PP), Tarnodur and (PBT). The development modified materials as a result of intensive works realized in Azoty Tarnów through R&D - Plastics Laboratory. Quality Management System was adopted in Azoty Tarnów in compliance with international standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 22000:2005, PN - N-18001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

The paper describes the methods for manufacturing octogen, a modern, thermally stable, brisant explosive. Two production technologies for obtaining the compound developed at the Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry have been presented. The first method uses the nitration of urea with a nitrating mixture (nitric acid and oleum), and the cyclisation of dinitrourea (DNU) with hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) and ammonia to form a semiproduct ? DPT, which is then subject to nitrolysis after adding the solution of ammonia nitrate in nitric acid. This method has been implemented in industrial applications. The second method consists in the nitrolysis of hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) with the solution of ammonium nitrate in nitric acid in the presence of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and trioxane (a trimer of formaldehyde).
