Obtaining PVC/CNT nanocomposites with the use of dispersing agents

Method is presented for the preparation of nanocomposites of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), wherein the nanoparticles are dispersed in a solution of PVC in tetrahydrofuran (THF), with the addition of dispersing aids (MWCNT content in final nanocomposite 1% wt.). The dispersing aids used (known from the literature) were oleic acid (OA) and methyl oleate (MO). The effect of dispersants on the stability and quality of the carbon nanotubes dispersion in PVC solution was determined. The homogeneity of carbon nanotubes distribution in nanocomposite films was assessed using optical microscopy.
